The Showman’s Show
With the wedding season now at an end, it’s time for us to look to the next year and start preparations for our 2023 weddings.
Last Thursday, we took a trip from our HQ in Cheshire down to Oxfordshire to spend the day at The Showman’s Show - the UK's leading exhibition of products, services and entertainment for the festival, outdoor and special event industry. It’s an event that we aim to attend each year to keep us up to date with the latest industry technologies and innovations out on the market.
The event showcases a wide range of products and services that we use throughout our marquee hire business - from environmentally friendly solutions to event furniture and catering equipment, attending the show gives us an insight into innovative ideas and products that we can incorporate into our business model, which in turn allows us to offer the best service that we possibly can to our couples and clients.
As an outdoor wedding hire company, we went along looking specifically at practical facilities to ensure couples, clients and guests are comfortable and secure during their marquee celebration. We have been taking a look at marquee heating and a variety of flooring options and on the lookout for some fresh and exciting creative lighting options for us to make the most of our marquee interior once the sun goes down!
It wasn’t all work of course, we enjoyed networking, tasting some of the delicious refreshments on offer by a handful of mobile caterers and bars and of course and let’s not forget soaking in the glory of a high score at the Clay Pigeon Shooting stand!
With over 350 exhibiting companies, it was a great opportunity to meet with friends old and new and to chat with other wedding and event industry suppliers.
The 2022 Showman’s Show saw a strong focus on sustainability within the event – we were particularly taken by an array of solar powered generators providing new wave of battery powered technology for temporary events.
We also chatted with material specialists supplying the manufacturing industry about the latest technology in fabric construction and reducing carbon footprint in it’s making.
As we are Wills Marquees suppliers, long term sustainability is a real passion of ours. We have the privilege of working in some truly beautiful locations across the North West, Wales, Lancashire and Shropshire and want to do all we can to preserve it’s nature.
